Biography

Ivan Milanov, DSC graduated medicine in Sofia in 1981 and after that acquired specialty in Neurology. He specialized in movement disorders in the University of Kansas in the United States and in headache at the University of Pavia, Italy. Presently he is a Professor in neurology, National consultant of Ministry of Health in Neurology and consultant to the NHIF (National Health Insurance Fond), Corresponding Member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Board member and treasurer of the European Society of headache (EHS), Representative of Bulgaria on the board of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN), a member of the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS) and the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP - USA). Presently he is the CEO of University Hospital “St. Naum”. He was a Vice-Rector of the Medical University in Sofia from 2004 to 2008 and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health in 2010.
